  1. Provision of seminar-workshop related to workplace success

The company, Corporatenuances Publishing and Consulting was also asked to help some institutions in the Philippines to facilitate seminar-workshops on workplace success.  The topics that we were asked to run revolve around understanding the incoming workforce and we came up with the following titles:

  1. Input-Control Behavior System for Millennials and Generation Z at the Workplace

Everything people do is to satisfy the basic needs for survival, belonging, power, leisure, and freedom in an attempt to control their lives.  Generation Z and some millennials may have the perception stored in their mind of what they want in order to satisfy their needs.  Perception may be expected at a high level such as a performer showing excellence in their tasks and be recognized as best employees.  However, in the pursuit of these perceptions, they sometimes choose their misery such as being emotional, out of control, complaining a lot, and disregarding good communication skills to excuse unwillingness to do something more effective.  To solve these irresponsible behaviors, Millennials and Generation Z workforce were helped to develop responsible plans to fulfill their needs and goals with the belief that a person can order themselves to do better and doing better makes them feel better.  As the saying goes “We are what we learn to do.”

  1. Millennials and Generation Z toward Self and Social Effectiveness

Graduates of K-12 curriculum and fresh college graduates are so new to the world of work.  Understanding oneself in order to be socially effective is a skill the millennials and generation Z workforce need to acquire.  This is one of the soft skills valued by companies for incoming employees to achieve outstanding performance because success in working in an organization entails having a good relationship with people at work.  As the saying goes “If yon don’t know who you are, you are a mess at the workplace.”

  1. How Compensation and Training can Engage the Millennials and Generation Z at the Workplace

Business Leaders and HR Leaders are responsible for making the workplace a great place to work.  That is why they ensure all aspects of human resources functions are properly addressed.  One of the critical functions is compensation and benefits of the best asset of a company, the human resources.  Knowing how to assess and price a job is a skill leaders need to know to retain exceptional employees.  Pay transparency instills trust and this, coupled with hard and soft skills training at the workplace, can engage the millennial and generation Z workforce in the company.

  1. Diversity and Inclusion: Women Empowerment at Work

In Asian culture, women are known to be vulnerable and value conformity above individuality.  At work, establishing a culture of respect for both men and women is the trend implemented in most diverse workforce in the Philippines.  This means that being assertive with one’s ideas is not only a man’s skill.  Women can also speak up as the need arises.  A culture of respect also evades sexual harassment and leads to decreased attrition level of the workforce.  Ability to confidently speak up is the main track of the workshop for women who are talented but reluctant to assert themselves.

  1. Money Management: Money and Life Choices for Millennials and Generation Z workforce at the Workplace

Once students leave school, it is not much a matter of technical degrees or good grades that count when it comes to getting ahead with money.  Money management is not taught at school.  One of the reasons why so many talented people are poor is because they are not literate and intelligent when it comes to money and life choices.  Participants learn how to use their skills in acquiring additional income, managing their money by applying the simple accounting of income and expenses, understanding good and bad debts, and how to invest in stocks or real estate.  As the saying goes “Don’t retire poor.”

  1. Master the Multinational Workplace: Everything You Need to Know about Working and Winning in Multinational Companies

Success at work entails ability to swim in the river of relationships.  In this workshop, aside from understanding the system of working in big and multinational companies, participants are taught how to apply the relationship strategies used by psychologist Carl Rogers in his person-centered approach.  Other communication skills used in counseling are also presented in layman’s terms.

  1. How to Survive and Thrive in Multinational Companies

With the use of artificial intelligence in today’s work, many employees are expected to be removed in the workplace by 2020.  What makes a person thrive in multinational companies is the soft skill called creativity.  Machines cannot replace creativity be it in the area of hard skills and soft skills.  Samples on how to develop creativity is the theme of the workshop.

  1. Looking Your Best at Work

Beauty in relation to work is not only about a pretty face.  It has to do with the overall well-being and positivity a worker radiates.  When the employees are under stress at work, it is always preferable to see a peaceful personality over a distressed one.  A peaceful personality attracts a sense of calm that contributes to everyone’s well-being in the office environment.  This seminar talks about developing inner beauty; taking into consideration the external aspects of being confident enough in carrying oneself through manner of dressing, moving and make-up.  These external aspects of beauty are just accessories in looking good at work.
